Pangloli
A small hamlet of Adivasis from the Thakar and Dhangar tribe located near Tungarli dam, Lonavala, Maharashtra comprising of around 100 families in the lower income group. The average education of adults here is 3rd Standard.
Issues
Very high (>90%) school dropout rate due to:Lack of vision
- Inability of parents to visualize financial security to education.
- Absence of local role models for the children.
- Access to easy money through short term jobs like gardening, housekeeping etc.
Lack of motivation
- Financial sustainability of family
- Limited resources
- Below par academic performance
- High rate of alcoholism among parents
- Accessibility to school; students have to walk about 4 kms one way. The return journey is a tough climb.
Objectives
- Expand awareness of benefits of education
- Create interest in academics
- Increase exposure to tools and technology
- Incentivize good academic performance and motivate to do better in school

- Awareness programs organized during events like flag hoisting
- Incentivization through sponsored learning material and school kits
- Education support for deserving students
- 3 students successfully passed 10th Standard (S.S.C) board exams in 2019
